hey all, found this new dating site but I have my doubts whether it's actually any good, since I've never heard of anyone using it. So before I make an account, I wanted to check with you crowd: is toplocalsingles legit or a scam? Anyone has experience with this one? Thanks!

I haven't used it myself but I know it when I see one - sites like this pop up all the time with flashy names and promises of meeting “local singles,” but they’re typically designed to siphon your money without offering anything genuine in return. Here’s some red flags from the getgo:

• No reputation: If you can’t find legit reviews or real user experiences anywhere, that’s already a red flag. Most reputable dating platforms, even the smaller niche ones, will have some sort of online presence or word-of-mouth backing.
• Fake profiles: the few reviews I see mention Toplocalsingles as being fake or bot profiles, designed to lure you into paying for subscriptions or premium features. You’ll probably get a flood of generic messages that seem too good to be true.
• Paywalls everywhere: Even if you can sign up for free, sites like this are notorious for locking everything behind expensive paywalls, like reading messages, seeing photos, and then delivering little to no real value.

There’s a risk that giving them your payment info could lead to unauthorized charges or hidden fees so unless someone here miraculously comes forward with a glowing review (highly unlikely), I’d steer clear. Hope that helps save you some time and money!
